Biggest DDDDRRRRROOOOPPPPP!!!!....of the week: Maroon 5 – Love Somebody (-20)
Biggest Jump of the Week: Demi Lovato – Made in the USA

We’re welcoming back Olly Murs – Dance With Me Tonight to the countdown, and sort of begrudgingly accepting the re-entry Enrique Iglesias – Turn the Night Up.  So there’s only two new ones to talk about this time around.

Neighborhood – Sweater Weather reminds me of Lana Del Rey Ft. Cedric Gervais – Summertime Sadness so much that I do not plan on giving it a unique review.  I already made a funny about Summertime Sadness last week, so re-read last week’s installment if you really want this kind of coverage.  I am not being paid to duplicate work.  You should instead blame the countdown for allowing similarly boring songs to debut on consecutive weeks.  Travie McCoy (one of the lesser countdown artists) teamed up with Jason Mraz (one of the better) to produce Rough Water.  It ranks as an above-average countdown song….although that’s mostly thanks to Mraz’s nice work on the chorus, McCoy holds up his end of the bargain as well.

- For those who were not aware, Olly Murs – Dance With Me Tonight is, in fact, a re-entry.  It was on the countdown for just one week in early 2012, and was actually my 21st-ranked song last year.  As a quick refresher, this is that song that sounds like it was made 60 years ago.  Here’s hoping it sticks around for longer than just the one week this time around.  It won’t be eligible for 2013 year-end rankings.
- Someone at Hits-1 must really hate me, bringing back Enrique Iglesias – Turn the Night Up like that.

- The 1975 – Chocolate is enjoying a pretty strong second wind on the countdown, making its Top-10 debut just 3 weeks after falling to #40.

- Also making its Top-10 debut…Editor’s Picks mainstay MKTO – Classic.  This is allowed.  Very allowed.  Not a bad week, all things considered.

Editor’s Picks – Top 5 Songs
1) Train Ft. Ashley Monroe – Bruises
2) Olly Murs – Dance With Me Tonight
3) Bonnie McKee – American Girl
4) MKTO – Classic
5) Karmin - Acapella
