Biggest
DDDDRRRROOOOPPPP…..of the week: Taylor Swift – We Are Never Ever Getting
Back Together (-33)
Biggest
Jump of the Week: Of Monsters and Men – Little Talks (+20)
Our
only new song this week comes courtesy of Ms. Biggest DDDDRRRROOOOPPPP herself,
Taylor Swift. I flew in the face of music critics everywhere (to
the extent that everyone is a critic….) by giving a seal of approval to We
Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. I give no such approval to I
Knew You Were Trouble. This one’s fresh out of the “waste of space”
department.
Blurbisms
-
Quite the short tenure for R.I.P., though I suppose not surprisingly so.
-
Kudos to the voters this week. After getting their first sniff of Of
Monsters and Men – Little Talks on the countdown, they properly launched it
up 20 spots the following week. All goes according to plan.
-
Owl City Ft. Carly Rae Jepsen – Good Time has now been #1 six times,
which is not a record. However, it has now had 4 separate non-consecutive
stints at #1, which is a record.
-
It’s a long shot, but One Direction – Kiss You has a chance to break the
record for fewest weeks on the countdown before hitting #1.
-
Hooray for Ellie Goulding – Anything Could Happen breaking out of the
bottom 5!
-
I know, I know….I’m much fewer fascinating than usual this week. Sorry.
